Years back I was in
school, nothing interesting here. The interesting aspect that started with my
school life and continued to college years and even now, is the bunch of
questions on God, religions and some non-sense rituals. Back then, nobody could
answer all my questions and now most of those people avoid me.
Many uncounted years have passed in raising our hands and heads
towards the blue sky and praying to Him for our health and prosperity. Who is
Him? Oh ‘Him’ is the common word used to address Gods coming from religions and
beliefs. Ok so who is Him? This single question holds many more questions within,
which prevail in the restless mind of ‘Aaj ka youth’ that includes me.
We know Him (God) as Bhagwan, Allah, Waheguru, Jesus, Buddha and
by many more names around the world. The only good thing is, these all entities
are same...same power, same source.
It is not an easy task to understand God
but it becomes easy to create attitudes and opinions about his existence. There
is no doubt that there is someone up in the sky who is running all this. Our
environment, each living thing around that breathes is controlled by someone.
Oh yes! I completely agree here. But there are many young minds who don’t really
believe in his existence....hmmm that is not a bad thing.
-Don’t raise your eyebrows as I said it is not a bad thing.
World is a free space, don’t impose your attitude on others-
To me (that is a 21 years old mind) God has been put in the way
of Hinduism culture, traditions and pujas. Vedas and Puranas, Bhagwat Gita,
Hanuman Chalisa and many more spirituals books find place in the mandir inside
my home. In this same way, my friends who belong to different religions have
their own way of praying to God. What temples, mosques, gurudwara, monastery
and churches represent? Basically in these places you can find peace and keep
your mind quiet for some time, though some people try to find God in such
places. Every year so many festivals are celebrated around the world in the
name of God which is very good way for a get-together. In every society, people
from all castes and sects form a section that represents their identity and
their religious upbringing. I find it really stupid when a person’s religion is
questioned only because some other insane people from that same religion have
committed a sinful crime. These same kind-of people are hardcore preachers of
their religion and for them, there is nothing above that not even humanity.
We can debate on this topic for endless hours whether God exists
or not, Which religion/God is greatest, What path to follow to meet Him?
But seriously do we need to know it all?
No we don’t. Yesterday after watching JOBS, a movie made on the
life of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, I started surfing about this rebel man.
While I was reading about his early life, uncompleted education, visit to
India, foundation of Apple in a garage, rude professional behaviour and many
other topics, my eyes got stuck to a phrase this product perfectionist had said
about death-
‘Death is very likely the single best invention of life. It is
Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now
the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become
the old and be cleared away’
A very simple message lies in here- We are here to do our stuff.
You will be dropped on this earth, you will use your full potential to do some
good or bad work and then after death you will go back the almighty who had
sent you here.
GOD is a "FEAR FACTOR" for not doing the "WRONG THINGS", a "MOTIVATION" that you can do "IMPOSSIBLE (but I prefer to say it I M POSSIBLE)" things and for few "EXCUSE" for doing "WRONG THING" saying that it is "SCRIPTED" by "HIM".
ReplyDeleteI believe that god exists(mayb because i've been told so right frm my childhood)..bt even if he doesnt exist, i wud say dat he is a vey good invention by humans for differentiating good from bad, right frm wrong....as derez dis belev widin us dat "HE IS WATCHING" "HE WUD PUNISH US LATER", "JO JAISA KARTA H, USKE SAATH VAISA HI HOTA H" etc.etc.
ReplyDeleteYeah Pragya I completely agree with u that 'God' is necessary to keep us away from dark....but why should we even think of dark?
ReplyDeleteIn OMG (Akshay Kumar's movie)....Mithun Chakrborty last dialouge was 'These people are God fearing, not God loving'. I say...why dont we love God and treat him as our friend. Why do we have to run behind defining our religion and other related stuffs?
