We can't be GAY

Oh just another controversial news has reached to our mutual society circle. Apparently, Suzzane Khan (I guess no more Roshan) has decided to move out of 17years of relationship because she has found that her hubby Mr. Hrithik Roshan has physical relations with another bollywood stud Mr. Arjun Rampal. Looks like Suzzane couldn’t sleep from the fact that Arjun Rampal is her SAUTAN!! I don’t have so much time to understand the depth of this news but I would like to link it with 377. And why not? After all SC has announced it illegal! Bullshit.

Personally, I don’t really have an opinion about Gay-Lesbian issue but as a writer and also as an Indian, I care. I care for the freedom of these people who have chosen a person from their own gender. Also it gives me a scary thought that may be tomorrow, not so long from today, our weak judicial and moral police may keep a hand on my freedom. No I am not in love with any guy but there are certain kinds of freedom that I enjoy. In the way that SC has reacted to this very normal thing is horrible and really not acceptable. At one place, we have a list of criminals turned politicians turned criminals turned politicians who are actually affecting lives and making our country a horrible place to live and on other hand our society/SC is running behind same-gender love. The rate at which crimes are taking place against women, elderly, girl child and innocents... why can’t SC see this?

You must have noticed that nowhere in this article I am blaming it on government because with a bold face and strong words, congress leaders have spoken against SC decision. UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has said that she is disappointed with Supreme Court’s reversion of HC order and law Minister Kapil Sibal has told to bring it back to parliament and to adopt the approach that gives quick results. Of all the statements made, I liked two- First, made by finance minister P. Chidambaram who said, “It's gone back to 1860. I don't want to take names but those politicians opposing it, it's unfortunate. The government must go for review petition or curative petition,". Second from Mr. Rahul Gandhi- “My personal view is that these are matters of personal freedom. I think I would agree more with the high court. I think these types of matters should be left to individuals. These are their choices. The country is known for its freedom of expression. That is what I think.”

(How my friend reacted after reading this- Congress ko ho kya gaya hai yaar!! Itni achi achi baatein ho rahi hai...)

This was the reaction from India’s biggest political party while some other parties who also hold power in their hands made statements like-

BJP's Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath said he will oppose any move to change the law. "I welcome the Supreme Court verdict. When the bill is brought in Parliament, I will oppose it. I oppose any move to decriminalise homosexuality and endorse Ramdev's comments," he said.
Yogi Adityanath has mentioned ramdev in his statement so here is what Ramdev said, “The court has respected sentiments of millions of Indians and declared homosexuality a crime. Homosexuality is not genetic. It’s just a bad addiction. I can cure it.” I would like to tell Ramdev to please start a rehab for those who are actually in bad addiction and not for those who want to live by their freedom.

Just today, a big name got added to the list of those against homosexuality, Mr. Rajnath singh. BJP president said in a interview- “we supported section 377 because we believe that homosexuality is an unnatural act and cannot be supported”

Suddenly in respect to the statements made, we can see UPA in good light and BJP going towards dark? Time to think Mr. Modi!

In all that was written above, I presented you varying views of our political leaders but what about my view. Let me make it clear that I am very neutral on this issue because there are many other issues going on in my life that are personally important to me. If I am neutral then why I wasted my time in writing this article? Only because I support freedom. Freedom of any kind. In the context of those individuals and organisations that have stood by these people in love, you people have a long way to go. For our leaders at helm, there are so many other important issues and projects depending on which SC should take a firm stand.

To SC, thanks to you, truly 377 has become more than just a three digits number!
SC has proved that we don’t have right to be gay and content.
(For educated illiterates, please check the dictionary app in your smartphone for the another meaning on GAY)

PS- Dear HR and AR fans who consider being ‘GAY’ as a curse or disease, please don’t abuse me for creating this hot news because this news has reached in my kaan through the same society in which you live.

On a lighter note- A mid aged Delhi wale uncle was asked about SC verdict- Areh problem kya hai agar aadmi aadmi mein pyaar badta hai toh!
