I don’t have
all the required knowledge of present scenario of Indian politics but I am
fully aware of the most astute player in the playground, who can be soon crowed
as the game changer. Also I can write
dozen of articles on this person and his saffron party but for this hour, I
shall refrain from doing the regular. Let me write something that can be tagged
as the most dreamful thought of the last 1-2 years, since when heavy political
promotions and campaigns have started-
Two major
parties that are standing tough on the battlefield have different symbols to
present their attitudes, approach, ideas and thoughts. While the party which is
in centre from a long time is presented by a Haath (Hand), its rival and
toughest competitor in this election is represented by a Kamal (Lotus).
We all are well aware of all the good and corrupt deeds committed by these two
in the past. But let us forget the scars of past for this time and completely
focus on the symbols. Only symbols, nothing else should matter.
In the creative
business of marketing and branding, it is a well established fact that a logo
or symbol conveys a lot about the organisation, agency or corporation that,
that particular logo is representing.
So if we
take a look at the actual meaning of the two symbols, we will conclude by
drawing the fact that both these symbols are positive in approach and conveys a
promising attitude.
Haath can be seen as an effort to pull up
the poor, destitute or helpless. Also it can be seen as a companion who will
walk firmly with you till the very end. Is it not a normal act to shake hand
with that person whom you like or with whom you would like to share a
relationship for life?
On the other
side, we have a beautiful flower of Kamal. This decorative item from the
rich flora can be seen as a sign of peace, harmony and relaxed atmosphere. This
is exactly how we feel when we are close to nature. The Kamal may also
symbolise an establishment of peace with an enemy or forgiveness.
Now that I
have put in front of you, my POV for these two symbols, I would like you to
consider this thought-
Imagine an
autumn day, when both the candidates who are running for the premier’s seat
will break all the self-imposed barriers only to walk down the road. While one
shall expand Haath of friendship and compromise towards the other, a Kamal
should be the answer from another side to show the acceptance of mutual love
and understanding.
Holding the
Kamal in Haath, the walk should be aimed towards a united and happy nation!
